What the role is:The Accountant-General's Department (AGD) plays an important role in making Singapore a better place through Finance. At AGD, we aim to be a future-ready leader in transforming Public Sector finance by putting finance at the heart of our decision-making. We do this through building a strong foundation in providing robust financial systems and processes that serve key stakeholders including our pensioners, vendors and the public sector. Our team of accounting professionals work at AGD and are deployed to the public agencies to deliver a wide range of financial and accounting-related services to the Public Service. Together we play a critical role in helping the Government achieve its fiscal and economic objectives through sound stewardship and governance. You will join AGD's Finance Data and Analytics Branch, under the Treasury, Technical & Analytics Directorate. This branch spearheads the development and administration of business intelligence systems and data analytics projects.What you will be working on:
Participate in prototyping and validation of use cases to support data. • Management/governance work (e.g. data quality), through the use of tools or leveraging on AI (e.g. Large Language Models (LLM)); Curate and prepare data products meeting the requirements for analysis/processing/use case validation. • Prepare/run SQL queries to validate correctness of processed data. • Use Business Intelligence (BI) to present data insights, including, but not limited to, supporting data management/governance work.
What we are looking for:
Hands-on experience with at least one programming language e.g. SQL, R or Python; • Prior knowledge on data engineering, data quality, data management, and data governance concepts is advantageous; • Prior knowledge on ML/AI concepts, including, but not limited to data management/governance use cases is advantageous. • Prior experience with any of the leading ETL tools in the market (e.g. Talend, Informatica) is advantageous; • Prior experience with any of the leading BI tools in the market (e.g. MicroStrategy, Tableau, Qliksense, Qlikview, Power BI) is advantageous; • Organised individual with good interpersonal and communication skills (presentation and writing); • Proficiency in basic office productivity tools, such as Excel, Word and PowerPoint; • Meticulous in ensuring data/information accuracy; and • Willingness to learn and adapt to new tools and technologies to accomplish assigned tasks. • Meticulous and good organisational skills • Ability to multitask and work independently and in Microsoft Teams • Good interpersonal skills
